Registrar and Records
Record Management:
SONISWEB® is designed to collect and store individual information as they move from prospect to alumnus. Their information is stored in a Microsoft SQL Server® database. Access to the information is determined through SONISWEB's role-based security. SONISWEB holds records for prospective students, applicants, students, alumni, faculty, staff and constituents.
SONISWEB tracks multiple addresses, leave of absences, emergency contact information, health records, housing assignments, test results, employment information, placement information, financial aid, course and billing history.
Grade Management:
Faculty and administration can enter grades using their web browser. Faculty can choose to either use SONISWEB's powerful GradeBook, that allows instructors to weight and track individual assignments or simply enter letter grades for their courses.
Online Registration:
SONISWEB provides user-friendly registration tools for students and administration. The system checks for scheduling conflicts as well as for required pre-requisites, co-requisites, authorizations, holds and restrictions. Online registration utilizes a familiar shopping cart design in which a course listing displays on-screen and students select courses in which they wish to enroll. Charges can automatically be posted to the students' account or deferred to bulk posting following the add/drop period, at which time any posted charges associated with drops are voided.
By assigning special privileges to administrators, select individuals will be able to set and/or override restrictions on credits, pre-requisites, co-requisites, programs, levels and so on.
Degree Audit:
SONISWEB provides administrators with the tools to develop multi-layered curriculum plans. Students, faculty and administrators can then monitor progress toward meeting the requirements of any given plan. SONISWEB can also perform degree audits for a group of students, giving faculty and administration the ability to better advise students of unmet graduation requirements and/or the specific impact of degree changes.
