Woodbury, Connecticut, August 15, 2007
RJM Systems Inc. is pleased to announce the five winners
of our first annual SONISWEB Award and Scholarship
program. Five grants of $1,000.00 each were
awarded to colleges from around the country:
Ozarka College (Melbourne, Arkansas), St. John's
College (Springfield, Illinois), The Christ
College of Nursing and Health Sciences (Cincinnati,
Ohio), Miles Community College (Miles City,
Montana), and St. John's Seminary (Camarillo,
California)
"Because of our close relationship with our
customers, we want to support their institutions
in any way we can," says Joanne Milburn, CEO
of RJM Systems. "This new scholarship program
is a way for us to give back to our colleges."
The colleges are clearly thrilled with the
new program. "I think the new SONISWEB Award
and Scholarship Program is terrific," says Esmé
Takahashi, Registrar at St. John's Seminary.
"It provides a fresh opportunity to connect
with SONIS in more than just a business way."
St. John's Seminary has been using SONIS since
1999 for a variety of administrative functions,
including processing student enrollments, maintaining
academic records and course descriptions, and
retaining faculty data. They plan to use the
$1,000 grant to improve their student evaluation
program. "Because we originally did not have
the budget for this program, the financial assistance
came at a very significant time," says Takahashi.
Nathan Long, Assistant Dean for General Education
at The Christ College, says they're excited
to use their $1,000 grant to help implement
a technology master plan to bring 21st century
technologies like wireless and smart classrooms
to their college. "This summer we upgraded to
SONISWEB to move our student information databases
and registration systems online," says Long.
"This was one of the first steps in reaching
our long-term goal of being on the technological
cutting edge of what nursing colleges are offering."
Jane Schachtsiek, Chancellor of St. John's
College is also excited about the new SONISWEB
Scholarship and Award Program, which will be
used to fund scholarships for their students.
"I am amazed that a company wants to return
some benefit to its customers beyond the contracted
services it provides," Schachtsiek says. "However,
having worked with SONIS for several years,
I think the SONISWEB Award and Scholarship Program
is yet another example of their desire to be
of service to their customers."
Every year, current customers who have renewed
their maintenance or hosting contracts on time
will be eligible to apply for a $1,000.00 SONISWEB
Award. Applications for the 2008 Awards will
be accepted from January 1, 2008 to June 1,
2008. Visit www.sonis.com
in 2008 for more details.
